Kiddie- safe Parent Coach was set up in February 2020 with the purpose of helping families struggling with the pressures of modern society and unexpected demands which can affect the dynamics of the family. .
Kiddie-safe aims to help families rebuild their relationships following life events that can affect each family member in different ways. Kiddie-safe can help parents and their children to develop the skills to help them manage the family dynamics, and reduce the risk of family breakdown which may also result in long or short term separation from each other.
Kiddie-safe provides an individual support programme to provide the essential practical emotional and mentoring support to parents and their families that aims to prevent family breakdown and maintain positive family relationships.
Our tailored programmes are designed to support parents to build on their existing parenting skills and promote their personal strengths to prevent family breakdown and resolve issues that affect the family in the following areas :
Kiddie-Safe provides a customised services based on the child's needs and offer the family a positive experience of being professionally supported.
There are times when parents become overwhelmed with the expectations in society of being a perfect parent. there is no perfect parent or perfect family and you do not need to be perfect, As parents, we have all wanted to try our best at being a good enough role model for our children and want to be perfect. You are good enough as a parent and sometimes as parents, we just need some one to tell us we are doing okay, instead of focusing on our flaws I myself as a parent have experienced criticism as a younger parent but later in life whilst supporting parents and families from all walks of life, I discovered, in reality there is no perfect parent nor is there a perfect family; however there are some great parents in society that strive to be the best parents they can be.
Parenting is a part of living life, it is a learning process, and we develop the knowledge and skills based on what has been learned from others around us, our own parents, grandparents, extended family. friends and at some stage in our child's life even professionals . We all make mistakes in life, but it is also about what we take away from these experiences and the learning process that makes us more aware of the obstacles that may create a problem and how to get round them to achieve a better outcome. This applies in the parenting role as well as in life.
In an ideal society a perfect family would not be faced with dilemmas or issues that affect the family network; however there are increased pressures on families in the current climate that are likely to contribute to situations where the parents feel they have no control over their children. Families experience varying situations and may be faced with short term problems, but some parents and children are more resilient to issues and are able to manage the problems better than others. It may be that they have a good network of support around them to help them through the issues, they may have had similar experiences but identified a solution that worked for them at the time.
I have in my profession recognised that some families who do not have the family support network around them , may not always be able to manage problems or make the positive changes within the expected time scales and may require additional support for a little longer than is expected by professionals. Some families require additional support to help them to identify risks to their children and may not be familiar with the essential parenting techniques to enable them to protect their children from being exposed to unnecessary emotional or physical harm from external sources.
Developing positive relationships and working in partnership with families is built on trust, and requires the professional to show empathy, respect, and understanding which will demonstrate their ability to empower and support parents to develop and achieve a balanced family environment. However; my experiences of working alongside families who have had negative experiences of being involved with children's Services can create additional challenges in a working relationship between parents and professionals. Kiddie-safe supports parents to build on their existing parenting skill and increase their personal growth and nurture their ability to see things differently and embrace their role as a parent.
When Children are growing up, they become dependent on the significant adults around them to be the role model for them. Children require their parents to show them and prepare them for life experiences that will enable them to successfully reach adulthood in the least problematic way and one day to eventually become parents themselves. Some families face multiple dilemmas that see them experiencing a crisis that seems too overwhelming to manage and other families can be very adept at dealing with issues that does not require professional support around them.
I can help and support parents to overcome the challenges and empower them to find a solution to resolve the issues within the family network and provide the support and guidance that will allow each parent to manage the challenges, that caring for children may bring within the role.
